About Wendy

I Didn’t Set Out to Become a “Wellness Person”

I was just a woman who had spent years taking care of everyone else and somewhere along the way realized I had stopped taking very good care of myself. As I got older, I was tired of feeling tired. I wanted more energy, more strength, more peace, and, honestly, I wanted to feel like myself again. What I’ve learned is that feeling better isn’t about completely overhauling your life. It’s about caring for all the parts of you – your faith, your body, your mind, your relationships, your purpose, and the everyday choices that quietly shape your life.

This Was Never Just About Losing Weight.

My journey may have started with wanting to lose weight and feel better in my body. And there’s certainly no shortage of diets, programs, products, and people willing to tell us how to do that. But somewhere along the way, I realized I was looking at wellness through a much smaller lens than God intended.

Because I can eat all the right foods, drink my water, move my body, take the supplements, and check every “healthy” box… but if I’m not well on the inside, I’m not wholly well. If I’m constantly overwhelmed, stressed, comparing myself to everyone else, carrying things I need to release, neglecting my relationships, or trying to do everything in my own strength, another diet isn’t going to fix that.

I’ve learned that my spiritual health affects my mental health. My mental and emotional health affect the way I care for my body. My relationships affect how I feel. My habits affect my energy. And all of it affects how I show up for the life God has given me. That’s why this space isn’t just about weight loss.

We’ll absolutely talk about nutrition, movement, protein, hydration, supplements, hormones, healthy aging, and taking better care of our bodies. Those things matter. But they’re only part of the story.

Wholly Well is about learning to care for the whole person — body, mind, spirit, relationships, habits, purpose, and everyday life. Not because we’re trying to create perfect lives. Because I believe God gave us this life to live it — and I want to be well enough, in every sense of the word, to actually enjoy mine.

FAITH

Where everything begins.

Making room for God in ordinary life, learning to trust Him more, and allowing faith to shape the way we walk through every season.

WELLNESS

Take care of the body you’ve been given.

Nourish your body, move it, rest it, build strength, and make small choices that help you feel better – without chasing perfection.

LIFE

Because wellness is bigger than health.

Relationships, emotions, purpose, joy, boundaries, habits, and everyday things that affect how we actually experience our lives.

A Little More About Me

I’m Wendy — wife, mom, grandmother, business owner, creative, and a woman who usually has more going on than there are hours in the day.

I’ve been married to my husband, Jerry, for almost 40 years. We have two grown children and a whole crew of grandchildren who are a huge part of our lives. Family can be wonderful, messy, loud, complicated, exhausting, and incredibly sweet, sometimes all in the same day. And honestly, a lot of what I’m learning about grace, patience, boundaries, relationships, and enjoying the life God gave me happens right there in the middle of ordinary family life.

I also work full-time, and when I’m not doing that, there’s a good chance I’m making something. I own Dean’s Designs, a small custom-design business where I create everything from tumblers and shirts to signs, license plates, koozies, and whatever else someone talks me into trying. I love the creative part – taking an idea and turning it into something real.

And somewhere in the middle of work, family, business, laundry, dishes, Facebook Lives, trying to drink enough water, moving my body, spending time with God, and everything else life throws into a normal day… I’m learning how to take care of me, too.

That’s really where Wholly Well lives.

Not in a perfectly organized morning routine or a life where everything is balanced. Right here in real life.

A few things about me:
🩵 Caribbean blue is basically a neutral. • ☕ Coffee makes mornings better. • 🏁 NASCAR is absolutely a thing at our house. • 🎨 I’m happiest when I’m creating something. • 📖 My faith comes before all of it. • 👵 Being Grandma is one of my favorite roles. • ✨ I’m a work in progress, and I’m okay with that.

You don’t have to change everything.

Just start somewhere.
